Obituary

William Hunter Brannon was born on December 18, 1999 in Longview, Texas to Stan and Michelle Brannon. Will passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, August 5th.  He lived in Hallsville, Texas his entire life.  He was a friend to all, a hard worker, and an fearless adventurer. He made memories and left footprints in all directions.  He loved technical and outdoor challenges.  When determined, he could learn, build, solve or fix anything.

Will had a very strong relationship with his family. They shared a love of history, Cardinals baseball, hiking national parks, going to airshows to see WW2 airplanes and everything Aggie.  Many memorable times were spent together at Caddo Lake and at their deer lease.  Will and his sister, Carolanne, had a close, loyal bond.  This summer, they traveled to Vicksburg, MS to go hiking and camping together.

Will always loved scouting and took living by the scout law earnestly. He was an active member of Troop 620 and was also part of the Order of the Arrow Brotherhood.  He achieved his Eagle Scout rank in 2016 by constructing a dodge ball arena for a local special needs school.

Will was entering his senior year at Hallsville High School, and he was an inspirational leader of the Bobcat Band family. Will was thrilled when his tuba section recently beat the drumline in marching competition for the first time in years.  He loved both helping and pranking new band members. He was planning to attend West Texas A&M University to study history and become a teacher.

In his free time, Will enjoyed spending time at Caddo Lake, camping, hiking, archery, solving Rubik's cubes, playing Monster Hunter, drinking coffee and RC soda, and finding the hidden treasure in every day.

Will was the kind of young man that anyone would be proud to call son, brother, grandson, nephew and friend.

Will was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Billy H. Brannon Sr. and Peggy Brannon of Karnack. He is survived by his parents, Stan and Michelle Brannon; sister, Carolanne Brannon; grandparents , Marty and Linda Salisbury of Mansfield, Don and Sharon Honolka of Arlington and Cathey Brannon of Jefferson; and great-grandmothers, Shirley Salisbury of Hobart, IN and Anna Merle Lang of Norfolk, VA.  He is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.
