A memorial service for William Roy Chastain, 59, of Marshall will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, February 17, 2014 at Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Marshall with Rev. Craig VanBiber officiating. A time of visitation for family and friends will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m., Sunday, February 16, 2014 at Downs Funeral Home. Mr. Chastain passed away February 13, 2014 in Marshall. Roy was born July 14, 1954 at March Air Force Base, Riverside, California to William George and Helen Jeanette Attaberry Chastain. Roy attended Marshall Public Schools, graduating from Marshall High School. He worked in the construction field as a concrete worker for 40 years. Roy enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson. Surviving Roy are his father, Bill Chastain of Marshall; his sons, Cody Chastain, Jeremy Gibson, both of Marshall, TX, Stephen Gibson of Clarksville, TN; daughter, Terri Burden of Marshall, TX; sisters, Christy Erpelding of Little Elm, TX, Janis Henli of Marshall, TX; brother, Joe Chastain of Marshall, TX; and 2 grandchildren, William Cody Chastain, Jr., Aubrey Rebecca Chastain. Roy was preceded in death by his mother, Helen Attaberry McFarland; sister, Barbara Chastain; and step-mother, Sylvia Chastain.
