A funeral service for William Howard Jordan will be held on Wednesday, May 19, 2021 at 10:00a.m. at Downs Funeral Home. Bro. Will Sherman will officiate the service. Interment will follow going to Pope City Cemetery.

William Howard Jordan, 88, of Woodlawn, Texas was born on July 25, 1932 to his parents, Mary Elizabeth Cooner and Walker Lee Jordan. Mr. Jordan passed away on May 16, 2021 at his family home. He was a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church. Mr. Jordan was self-employed working at his business, Jordan's Aire-Conditioning and Refrigeration. Before being self-employed, he worked for Jones Bros. and Thiokol Ammunition Plant in Karnack. He served in the United States Air Force as an airplane mechanic. Mr. Jordan's hobbies were woodworking, learning to fly and building his own two-seater plane.

Mr. Jordan is survived by his wife, Mamye Marie Bogue Jordan; children, Rick H. Jordan and wife, Francis, Diana L. Jordan Bynum and husband, Melton; grandchildren, Heather L. Mayfield, Michael S. Couch, and Richard H. Jordan; niece, Vickie Lacy. He is preceded in death by his parents, Walker L. Jordan and Mary Elizabeth Cooner Jordan; sister, Doris Marie Wisdom and great-grandson, Ezra William Mayfield.

In lieu of flowers the family of Mr. Jordan has requested that any donations be made to Woodlawn Baptist Church.
