A visitation for Willie Hugh Britt will be held from 5:00-7:00 P.M. on Friday, June 3, 2022 at Downs Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, June 4, 2022 at Powder Mill Cemetery.

Mr. Willie Hugh Britt, son of Mr. Clarence Britt and Mrs. Carrie Murray Britt was born on January 10, 1928 in Marshall, Harrison County, Texas. The youngest of 11 children born to this union and the only son.

His formal education was received through the Marshall School System and was a graduate of Pemberton High School, Class of 1946.

Mr. Britt began his illustrious career in life as a delivery driver for Matheson Drug Store on a scooter. In 1950, Mr. Britt was united in marriage to Ruby Mae Hearne. In 1959, Mr. & Mrs. Britt relocated to Bridgeport, Connecticut when he started a Home Maintenance business which he manned for over 35 years until the Britt's relocated back to Marshall, Texas in 1994 where he resided until his passing.

Willie Britt took great pleasure in tinkering, trying his hand at photography, electronics and formulated many of the chemicals that he used in his cleaning business and took periodic engineering classes.

On February 24 ^th , 2022, Willie and Ruby celebrated their 72 ^nd wedding anniversary. The road wasn't always smooth but they made it work as life partners.

Mr. Britt joined our Father in Heaven on Tuesday, May 24, 2022 after a brief hospitalization.

He leaves behind his Beloved wife, three daughters, Lanell Bowens of Los Angeles, CA, E. Denise Little of Plymouth, MA, Patricia Britt-Roberson of Marshall, TX and a son, Damen Britt of Houston, TX. Grandchildren Christi Bowens of Nevada and David Bowens of California as well as a host of Great grandchildren, great, great grandchildren and many Nieces and Nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings and his son, Willie Hugh Britt, Jr.
