A funeral service for Willie Mae Davidson, 73, of Karnack, Texas will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 21, 2023, in the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Sipps Cemetery in Karnack, Texas. Mrs. Davidson passed away on October 9, 2023, at her home in Karnack.

Mrs. Willie Mae Davidson, the 5th of 9 children was born to the parentage of the late Starling Hood and Addie Walker-Hood. She was born on May 8, 1950. at home in Karnack, Texas.

Mae accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior at an early age, and was a member of Mt. Ridge Baptist Church of Karnack, Texas. She was a loving mother to her five children, as well as stepping in and caring for her siblings and other family members. Mae earned a living doing what she loved "cooking." She worked as a cook at Bayou's Landing & Crip's Camp both in Uncertain, Texas for many years. As she grew older she enjoyed spending time with family, dancing, traveling and attending her grandchildren's sporting events. Mae did not meet a stranger and was well known by members of the community for her big giving heart, good food and always having the snacks and candy at games.

Mrs. Willie Mae Davidson peacefully gained her "WINGS" on Monday, October 9, 2023, in Karnack, Texas. In addition to her parents, five brothers, Starling Hook, Jr., Fred Hood, Dock Hood, James Hood and George Hood and 1st husband, Ray Earl Oliver preceded her in death.

Mae leaves to cherish her memory, husband, Willie D. Davidson; two sons, Cedric Oliver(Stacy) and Eric Davidson(Ashnon); three daughters, Yotarsha Oliver, Ciji Davidson and Jessica Davidson; seven step-children, Bridgett Lynn, Vonda, Anthony, Rodney, Patricia and Brenda; three sisters, Mattie Hood, Susie Hood and Margaret Esters (Arthur); sister-in-law, Ruby Hood; 32 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and number of step-grandchildren, step-great grandchildren along with numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
