A memorial service for Mr. Willie Joe "Jack" Boone, 77 , of Karnack will be held at 1 p.m., Thursday, January 12, 2017 in the chapel of Downs Funeral Home with Chaplin David Reeder officiating. Mr. Boone passed away January 8, 2017 at his residence.

Willie Joe Boone was born July 2, 1939 to Ananise and Jenny T. Boone in Waskom, Texas. He received his education in the Waskom Independent School District. He accepted Christ as a child at the Old Border Baptist Church. He was united in marriage to Jearlean "Pat" Washington on August 19, 1962. To this union, one child was born. Mr. Boone was employed with Texas Steel in Ft. Worth, Texas, Fab Steel in Waskom, Texas and Morgan Petroleum in Karnack, Texas. Willie loved the outdoors. In that he developed a passion for making arts and crafts from God's creation.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 54 years, Jearlean Boone; son, Michael Boone (Barbara) all of Karnack, TX; brother, Alvin Boone, Sr. (Debra) of Ft. Worth, TX.; sister, Alberta Thompson of Dallas, TX; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
