Obituary

Mr. Willie James Moore was born March 3, 1932 to parents, the late Thomas Moore, Sr. and Ethel Bell Cooks Moore of Woodlawn, Texas.  For twenty-eight years, he worked at Anerican North in Marshall, Texas.

Willie lived his life to the fullest, laughing and having fun.  He would shine his amazing light and leave an indelible impression on you until the very end on Saturday, January 28, 2021.

He was a member of Collins Chapel Church of God in Christ in Marshall, Texas.  There, he was a faithful deacon and Sunday School teacher for many years.  The church's name later changed to Holy Temple Church of God in Christ and he served as the church Trustee for many years.  Bro. Moore had a love for teaching God's Word to whomever visited his home.  He wanted everyone to know about Jesus Christ according to the Word of God.

Willie's favorite hobbies were going deer hunting, fishing and traveling.  He was a huge Dallas Cowboy fan, but most of all, he loved his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one child, Stanley Moore, three brothers and five sisters.  He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of fifty-six years, Rosie Mae Wabbington Moore; four children; Elathia Moore of Dallas, Texas, Wilma (Joshua) Morgan of Longview, Texas, and Wilbur (Carta) Moore of Lancaster, Texas; five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and a host of nephews, nieces, friends and loved ones.

Services for Bro. Moore will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, February 19, 2021 in the chapel of Downs Funeral Home.  Burial will be in Mount Zion Cemetery in Hallsville.
