Zonetta Ruth (Wilson) Fox, age 92, of Tyler, Texas passed away Tuesday, December 16, 2025. She was born in Cookville, Texas on January 30, 1933 to Beulah and Ellis Wilson.
Zoe, as she was called, was raised in Redwater, Texas, where she attended Redwater High School. Following graduation, she moved to Commerce, Texas where she attended East Texas Teachers College, receiving her Bachelors Degree in Education. She met her husband, Jimmy Fox, there and they were married, August 28, 1953. They had a daughter and a son. She not only took care of her family lovingly, but she taught in the elementary schools at Ore City, Marshall, Avinger, and Hawkins, caring for her students.
Zoe enjoyed feeding and watching the many hummingbirds in her yard. She was called a lovely lady and was known to be stylish, keeping up with the new trends. In addition, she could be found watching her loved Dallas Cowboys during football season. If they weren't playing, she would watch any team that was playing on the tv. In her later days, she enjoyed working on jigsaw puzzles. She even kept several mounted puzzles on the walls in her room.
Zoe is preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Jean, that died as an infant; her parents; and her husband.
Survivors include her daughter, Sherry Fox, of Tyler, TX, her son, Gary Fox and his wife, Karen, of Winona, TX; her grandsons, Dr. James Fox and his wife, Rachel, of Tyler, TX, Wes Pugh of Tyler, TX, Jarod Fox of Madrid, Spain, and Jeff Pugh of Longview, TX; also, six great-grandchildren.
