Obituary

Janita Greer Bolt was born November 20, 1937, to Bernice (Jack) and Ethel Greer in Gladewater, Texas. She joined her beloved husband, Harold Dean Bolt, in their heavenly home on October 16, 2026, at the age of 88.

Throughout her life, Janita was a devoted member of both Immanuel Baptist Church, where she was a member of the BYKOTA Sunday School Class and a past member of Wesley United Methodist Church . Her dedication to serving the Lord was evident through her many years of faithful service as President of the United Methodist Women, Chairperson of Evangelism, member of the Board of Trustees, and Chairperson of Family Ministries and other volunteer roles in both churches. She also invested in the lives of young people as a Cub Scout and Camp Fire leader. Janita was a past member of The Red Hat Society and TOPS Club. She enjoyed hunting, fishing, and camping with friends and family. She loved her weekly card game, Hand and Foot, with her dear friends. Preparing meals, baking and crafting were a passion that she shared with others.

Janita's unwavering faith in God was the foundation of her life. A woman of deep conviction and a servant's heart, she believed faith was not simply something to profess, but something to live each day. One of her favorite scriptures beautifully reflects the life she lived:

“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.” — Matthew 5:16

Janita leaves behind a legacy of faith, love, and a life spent serving others. Though she will be deeply missed, those who loved her find comfort in knowing she is at peace in the arms of her Savior and reunited with her beloved Harold. The light she shared so freely with others will continue to shine in the hearts of those blessed to have known and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving and devoted husband of 51 years, Harold Dean Bolt Sr.; sister, Irene Greer Smart; brother, Herbert Greer; twin sister, Juanita Greer Birdwell; son, Jack Edward Bolt; grandson, Jason Wayne Bolt; grand son in law, David (Bubba) Irvine; great grandsons, Remington and Jaxson Irvine and great granddaughter, Sloan DeMoney.

She is survived by her son, Harold Dean Bolt, Jr. and wife, Linda; daughter in law, Betty Bolt; daughter, Janet Bolt DeMoney and husband, Kenneth; sister in law, Julia Ann Whitener; grandchildren, Brent Bolt and wife, Angela, Brian Bolt, Brett Bolt and wife, Alisha, Shonda Irvine, Christy Bolt, Zac DeMoney and wife, Jessica and Marlie DeMoney; great grandchildren, Grayson Bolt, Daniel Harriman and wife, Taylor, Darla Moore and husband, William, Shawna Porter and husband, Tyrone, Zane Anthony, Kaylee Bush and husband, Kyle, Conner Layton, Kolten Layton, Coleston DeMoney and Parker DeMoney and great great grandchildren, Oaklynn, Waylon and Westlyn Moore, Elaina and Charlotte Harriman and Elijah Potter along with numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made in her honor to Immanuel Baptist Church.
