William Allen George was born April 23, 1940 in Harleton, Texas to Willard and Rena George. Born and raised in East Texas, William was known by many and will be greatly missed. He spent many years traveling the country as a truck driver, something he enjoyed. He was forced to retire in 1982 after becoming disabled. He had a love of mechanics and enjoyed working on cars, trucks and just helping a friend. William never met a stranger and often times used his humor as a way to build new friendships. He enjoyed being with his friends playing dominos and telling stories. More than dominos or traveling, William loved his family. He enjoyed spending time with them and watching his grandchildren as they grew.

William was preceded in death by his parents, Willard and Rena George; sister, Vera Anderson; grandson, Jeffery Taylor McCloud; and nephew, Roy Lee Fry.

Survivors include his son, William George, Jr. and wife, Trisha; daughters, Michele George, Tina Beth Key and husband, Scott; grandchildren, Jeremiah George-Harkins, Todd Allen Key-Harkins, Rylan Key, Jessica Key, Dylan Key, Alexandra Key, Zoe Key; sister, Edna Harber and husband, G.L., Jr; and a multitude of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

At his request, no public service will be held for William George. His family will host a private service at a later date.
